Khaylen talking

29th July 2013 -

I haven't had much chance to talk about Khaylen until recently as most of the times his main activities for the day as to eat, sleep, wake up. East some, sleep and poop.

Recently he started making a lot noise, mummy says it's calling 'babbling' it sounds like he is just making funny noises.

It's alwayss great when he talk to me. I don't understand what he is saying  but I'm sure it's something nice.

Ayanna's Birthday Party

20th July 2013 –

Today was Ayanna’s birthday party.

I was very excited in the morning and got up really early.  After breakfast Papa went to work and Mummy got me ready to go to the party.  I wasn’t sure why my mummy was packing a change of clothes for me.  I soon found out when we got there that there was a small pool where we could all splash around before we cut the birthday cake.  It was fun, I got changed into my swimming costume and we had so much fun splashing each other.

I splashed mum and she started laughing and began to chase me. It was a very nice and hot day so I didn’t get cold and mummy and I had a great time when we had lunch and ate all of the cake up.

Khaylen was staying at Nani’s house because he was very young and might not like the splashing and the heat at the party.  Next year he will be big enough so I can take him to my friends parties with me.

I really hope Ayanna enjoyed her birthday and her presents.

Last day at school

18th July -

Today was the last day of school it was a little sad but I knew that I would see the teachers and my friends again soon, either at parties or next years summer fair (I know it's a long way away but it will give us a change to tell each other stories of what's been happening in the year).

I wanted to give Miss Spernaes and Mrs Patel a present so that they remember me when I won't be there next year.  I wrote a card for each teacher as nicely as I could.  I did make a few mistakes but i've only just turn 5 give me a break here people.  I think it adds to the authenticity of the card and it will be different from the other cards (a little messy but different).  I drew a picture in each one as well.

I told Papa to buy a few things so that we could give the presents on the last day.  I gave Mrs Patel a cuddly toy and I put my name tag on it so she knew it was from me.  I gave Miss Spernaes the same cuddly toy but I also gave her a rubix cube keychain.  I remembered that when I took my Rubix cube in for show and tell she mentioned that she had one when she was a little girl.

Both the teachers loved their presents and gave me a big hug and said thank you.  I was so happy that they liked them.

There wasn't a lot of work to do on the last day and the teachers let up play as much as we liked,  we also watched our performance on Prize day and we cheered and laughed as we say each other on the stage.  It was a fun day and I didn't want it to end.....but end it did.

Khaylen, Mummy and Papa came to collect me at the end of the day and as soon as I saw them all I started to run with excitement towards them.  Miss Spernaes stopped me just as I was about to reach the gate and said 'Come here Cheeky'.  She lifted me up in the air with ease and gave me a great big hug and squeezed me tightly.  I noticed that she had started to cry but i wasn't sure why.  Papa told me later that it was because she will miss me and she was crying both because she was upset as she won't see me for a long time and happy because she knew that I was going to another school and that I will spread the fun with other children and teachers like I had done at Swaminarayan school.  Mrs Patel also gave me a big cuddle and told me that I was very special and that I should come back and see them very soon.

This was the last day at school and instead of being upset I was really happy and excited.  Not because I was finished and about to enjoy the summer holiday but I think it was because I was excited to start my new school.

School Trip to Holland Park

18th July -

Today we went to Holland Park.  It was the second last day of school and this was a treat from the teachers to all the Reception staff.  We had to wear a yellow jacket so that the teachers could see where we were at all times.

We had a lot of fun playing football, running around skipping and chasing the teachers and the boys.  It was very hot so I made sure I drank a lot of water throughout the day.

It wasn't long before it was time for lunch and we all sat down to eat.  Some children had sandwiches, fruits and chocolate.  Mummy had made special rotli's for me called 'Theplas', there were delicious Yummy yum yum.

Later on we all sat together for a final photo together and I sat with Miss Spernaes for a photo of just us together.  She is a great teacher.

Swaminarayan School Summer Fair 2013

14th July -

It's the day of the summer fair at my school. Total is going to be so awesome. Mummy and Papa said that its best to go in the late afternoon as it was too hot during the day.  I think this was a good idea as it allowed me to update my blog with the past events of the past few days.

I was drinking a lot of water today as it has been very hot and Papa put on sun cream on me so I don't get burnt in the sun.  Khaylen found it very hot to be in the sun so Mummy said she will stay with him at Nani's house while I go to the fair.  Again I wish he was big enough to come along so that I could have fun with him.

When Papa and I got there the first thing we say was a police van and a big police car.  I wasn't afraid because I haven't been naughty in a very long time so the police won't take me to jail.

Then I say Mrs Jadva doing face painting so I ran over to say hello and sat down to have my face painted.  I chose a nice unicorn and flower design to go on the side of my face.  Whilst I was having the face painted Miss Spernaes come over said that she had been reading my blog and she was very impressed.  I was so happy that she like my blog, I will miss her as I won't be at Swaminarayan School next year, I will be going to a different school.

Miss Spernaes said that she will try to follow my blog as often as possible and she will add comments on some of my posts (I hope she is aware that my Papa is updating the majority of the blog with me dictating to him in a very obscure way of what I want him to write.  The only post I have typed up myself with a lot of help regarding spelling and grammar is the 'Too Hot for School' post).

I then went on the bouncy castle slide.  It was 'AWESOME', I climbed all the way to the top and wasn't afraid to slide down (I think it's because I am now five and a big girl so I'm much braver).

When I came off the big slide I saw Ayanna and we started to place to get.  Papa and Ayanna parents started talking while we went to play on the swing ride.  Ayanna and I both sat on the pink chairs and we waited until it started going round and round faster and faster.  We put our arms out as it was only the two of us on the ride.

We all then went to get some food.  Ayanna and I shared a portion of chips as I wasn't very hungry.  I had been drinking a lot of water and my tummy was feeling full.  We sat in front of the stage where some people were performing dances and we ate whatever we could.  I liked watching the dances and when both Ayanna and I had finished eating we both stood up and started dancing.  Everyone must have thought we were crazy but I didn't mind because Papa said that as long as I am having fun and not harming or insulting anyone then I can dance for as long as I like.

After we had finished the dancing it was sadly time to go home.  I went with my Papa to collect Khaylen and Mummy who had been at my Nani's house.  We didn't stay there very long but I managed to get my Nani to give me a sneaky ice cream cone before we went.   Khaylen had fallen a sleep in the car and stayed asleep for a very long time.

As it was very hot I had been sweating all day so Papa said he will give me a give bath with water that wasn't too hot.  I then got ready for bed and fell asleep very quickly as I had, had a very busy and eventful day.

Quick update

14th July -

Ok, so I've managed to have a few minutes on the computer by myself so I'm just in the process of updating some of the content.  Lets see.... there was Keshvi's birthday, the splashing at school and later on we have a Summer Fair so I will catch about that on another post.

I think i'm just about done for today and will catch up regarding the Summer Fair either later on on in the next few days.  I'll make sure Papa takes loads of photos for me to upload.

Oh, my sneaky Papa took photos of me when I was updating my blog.  'Naughty Papa'.

Catch you soon....

Keshvi's Birthday Party

13th July -

Today it was Keshvi's birthday party.  In the morning I helped to look after my brother while Mummy went to do some food shopping.  My brother is very good and was sleeping most of the time after he had his morning breakfast (a bottle of milk), Then I helped to change him before we had breakfast.

Papa and I had breakfast together after he gave me a nice bath.  We then wrapped Keshvi's birthday present and I wrote in the birthday card.  I told my Papa that I was going to draw two princesses.  One was Keshvi and one was me and we both had big crowns on our head.

As it was a Saturday my Papa had to go to work and won't be able to join us at Keshvi's Party so Mummy and Khaylen came with me to the party.

At the party it was very very inside the hall and I was sweating alot but that didn't stop me from having fun and running around playing with my friends.  There was also a bouncy castle and I had lots of fun jumping around before we cut the cake and sat down to eat.

It was too hot for Khaylen and he was crying alot.  Mummy was doing her best to keep him cool and calm but the heat was just too much for him so we went home a little early.  I sang to Khaylen in the car and he calmed down a little but I think he just wanted to go home and sleep in his bed.

At home I had a nice long and relaxing bath and I played with my toys as well.  Mummy then helped me to wash my hair and had dinner which I helped Mummy to make.  We had home made pizza (yummy yummy), grapes, popcorn and then finally a Smarties Cone Ice Cream.  I was so full up that I fell asleep very very early.

Foundation Stage Prize Day

10th July -

Weeks and weeks of preparation by the teachers and students alike results in a fantastic Prize Day assembly for the Foundation Stage.

I had been practising my line and the songs for the prize day. Somedays Papa helped me but this time mostly Mummy helped and we watched and sang along to the song on YouTube.

Papa got me ready for school as always but we got ready a little earlier than usual as we had to get to school early and get ready.  There was a lot of rushing around especially as both Mummy and Papa wanted to come and see my performance.

Khaylen, Mummy and Papa all come to drop me to school and I rushed into the classroom to get ready. All the teachers were very busy getting some of the children.  Miss Spernaes face painted me and as I was going to be a zebra so the colours she used were only black and white.

I was really really excited as we all went into the assembly hall.  All the parents came in and sat down one by one as they aimlessly scoured groups of children to find their own and attempted half a wave or a quick smile if the children notice them back.

My Papa was filming so I saw him in the middle at the back of the assembly hall.  I can always rely on him to be either sitting or standing at that point to get the best footage.

The assembly was really fun and it was started off by the kindergarten children first with a small play, then came the nursery children and then finally it was the receptions turn to shine.  We all said our parts perfectly and my line was "Did you know that we don't sleep lying down like you, we sleep standing up."  I could see Papa put a thumbs up in the back of the room when I finished my line and I was so happy that I got it right.  Now it was time so sing the songs.  I did my very best and made sure I did all the actions correctly as well as sing the words out louder than anyone else.

When we had finished the performance Miss Spernaes read our names out one by one as Mr Raja handed out certificates for our achievements.

Too Hot for School

11th July –

Today it was very sunny and hot.  We went to the nursery garden and we were running around and playing.  Mrs Patel took a hosepipe was pretending that the hose was coming from the Fire engine and she was a firegirl (I’m not sure if that's what a fireman who is a woman is called but that’s what I’m going to call her).

Mrs Patel sprayed the water everywhere onto all of the children and we all got splashed and were wet but it was fun and we all ran around screaming saying ‘No Mrs Patel, don’t be naughty’.  Mrs Spernaes was standing watching us all and she was laughing and giggling.

Miss Popular

6th July -

Don't let the title fool you, I'm not as popular as I'd like to be with everyone. This I believe was one occasion of being double booked. I'm sure there will be additional double booking in the future as get older.

Today was Mahi's and Milan's Birthday party.  Luckily the parties were one after each other and not at the same time.

Papa woke me up in the morning and got me ready by making sure I have a bath and that my hair is washed and clean.  The reason Papa woke me up early was so that we could do some food shopping before the party.  Khaylen was sleeping and Mummy was making sure that when Khaylen woke up she was ready to feed him.  We didn't get a chance to have breakfast before the shopping so Papa made sure I ate a Chocolate Crepe on route to shopping.

We didn't go to the usual Asda's.  This time we went to the new Morrison's in Harrow.  I have been there once before wit Prisha and her Dad.  The shopping didn't take very long and Papa bought me chocolate fingers as I had been very well behaved during the week.  I asked if I could have three of the fingers but Papa said that I must have my breakfast first.  But then when we got in the car Papa surprised me by giving me two of the chocolate fingers.  Sneaky Papa.....

We got home and Mummy was sitting downstairs and had just finished feeding Khaylen, Papa made breakfast and we quickly ate and then got ready to go to the Mahi's birthday party.

We arrived at the party at 10:15am. A little late as the party was meant to start at 10am, but that didn't stop me running in and getting straight into playing and having fun with all my school friends.  Oh I forgot to mention.  The party was at Party Man World in Sudbury Hill (an indoor play area).  We also did some arts and craft by painting our very own piggy bank.  I choose a cupcake style piggy bank as I already had a 'Hello Kitty' and a 'Pig' style piggy bank.

After we had sung 'Happy Birthday' to Mahi, we all sat down to eat but I wasn't very hungry so I only ate a few chips and then I had to rush off to Milan's party.  I collected my party bag and cake and said goodbye to everyone.  Time to rush to party number two.

I sat in the front seat of the car even thought i'm not allowed and Papa made sure that he drove carefully so that I don't hurt myself. The second party was at Lava Lanes in Stanmore.  We arrived at the party about 20mins late and everyone had started bowling but I didn't get upset, I was so happy to see Milan and Sejal that I gave them both a great big hug and then joined a lane to play.  I enjoyed passing the Bowling balls to everyone when it wasn't my turn and I also did a little bit of Magic by helping others push the ball and knocking down all of the pins when it was other peoples turn.

Time to eat again and i still wasn't very hungry so I only ate some pizza and a few pieces of chips.  I think I was having way too much fun to be hungry today.

We went home after the party and my Papa went to sleep because of his hayfever, Mummy had been very very busy and had washed all the clothes for everyone in the house while I was at the two parties.  I wish Khaylen was a little older so he could have come to the parties and enjoyed them with me, I'm sure he would have loved bowling.

I hope Mummy comes to Milan's party at his house, I like it when both my Mummy and Khaylen are there so we can all enjoy the fun together like a family.  Oh I completely forgot, yes a third party but it's for Milan so i didn't count it as a third birthday party.

Mummy let me play with Khaylen for a little while and he was talking to me.  Ok, so the talking was mainly a series of noises and not words but what do you expect from a 2 month old. Khaylen is so cute and I can't wait until he is a little older so that I can play with him properly.  Both Mummy and Papa have said that I can play with him but I'm just scared that I will hurt him when I hug or hold him. I have waited so long for a sibling to share stories and playtime with so I think I can wait a little more and I'm sure he will be up and running around soon.

Party number 3.
Sejal and Milan were there playing at the party so I joined them and we had a lot of fun, Mummy and Khaylen came to the party but Khaylen was sleeping most of the time so this gave Mummy the chance to play with me for a little while and she helped Reshma fai in the Kitchen (Milan and Sejal's mum).  Joshna Fai and Dadi and Dada were already there along with Milan's Dadi, Dada, Fai, Fua & Kaka.  Shortly after Mota Papa, Mota Mummy, Harshil and Binal arrived.  I was so excited to see them.  Unfortunately the only person not there was Lavina but that's because she had to go to a school camping trip.  Hopefully I will see her soon and we can play along.  We then cut the cake and had dinner.  We were allowed to play in the garden for a little while as it was nice and warm outside.  Then it was time for ice cream.........oh yeah, oh yeah, ice cream, oh yeah. We all sat and had the delicious ice cream and were all well behaved (well not according to our parents but according to the kids I feel we were).

Time to head home sa it was getting late, I fell asleep in the car but Khaylen woke me up by crying. I tried to put my hands over my ears but I could still hear him get louder and louder, I started to get upset because I didn't know how to stop him crying.  I don't like him crying, not because he is loud and annoying but because I can't do anything to help and I don't like to see my baby brother in pain or getting hurt.

Just then Mummy said 'Maya, you know what will help Khaylen calm down don't you?'.  I looked at my mum with a blank impression and stared at her face hopeing she would blurt out what I must do.  Then I realised and I started to sing "You are my sunshine, my only sunshine, you make me happy, when skies are grey....'.  Amazingly Khaylen started to calm down, wow I must really have magical powers or maybe  remembers my voice from when he was in my mummy's tummy and i used to sing to him.  either way he had calmed down and nodded off to sleep.  I will have to remember this trick for next time.

A nice suprise

5th July 2013 –

Today was going to be a very short day at school. The older kids had to prepare for the awards evening so the school finished at 1pm. It had started off as a very bright and sunny day and I hope it would last.

Mummy & Khaylen collected me from school at 1pm and we started to make our way to Brent Cross. I wish Khaylen a little bigger so that I could tell him what I had done at school and we could share stories.

Mummy said that we had to buy Mahi and Ayanna birthday presents so we were going shopping. It was really really hot and I was getting all sweaty and tired. Mummy said that I could get changed into my summer dress but there was nowhere to change so I must do it in the car. Getting changed in the car? I thought to myself, the heat must be getting to Mummy. I flung off my uniform as fast as I could while we were stuck sitting in traffic and I put on my flowery summer dress. “It would be nice if you could get changed into your uniform that quickly in the morning” Mum stated with a hit of sarcasm in her voice.

We finally arrived at the shopping centre and I got a lovely surprise as my Papa was waiting in the car park ready to direct Mummy into a parking spot. I quickly got out of the car once Mummy had parked and in excitement whilst laughing I told Papa that I got changed in the car, he laughed and told me that I was crazy.

The shopping didn’t take as long as I thought it would, Mummy knew roughly what she wanted to buy so we headed to H&M and Mum showed us the summer dresses for Mahi and Ayanna that she would buy. There was a very long queue in the shop so Papa took Khaylen out of the car seat so he could stretch nicely and so that I could hug and play with him.

After we had finished shopping Papa asked Mummy if I had been good, before Mummy got a chance to answer I shouted out ‘Yes, I have. Yes, I have.’ Papa looked at me and smiled and then whispered in my ear ‘If you promise to carry on being good today and all day tomorrow at the parties then I will take you to a restaurant. Again, I shouted out without thinking ‘Pizza Express, Pizza Express please’. Mummy smiled this time as she was getting hungry too and we made our way to the restaurants. Khaylen started crying as soon as we got to Pizza Express so he must have been hungry too. Papa prepared his bottle and fed him while Mummy took me over to the play area where I could play with the dough and pretend to make my own pizza.

Our food order had arrived so Papa called me over and we began to eat. It was now time for deserts….yummy yummy, I love deserts.

When the chocolate fudge cake arrived for me I ate it up very quickly and Papa had to ask me to slow down and offer some to Mum. When all the deserts had finished and Papa had finished drinking his coffee we made our way home.  It was so hot that I fell asleep in the car. Oh no, not again, I thought to myself when Papa woke me up as we got home.

At home Khaylen was wide awake and it was time for his bath. Before I helped Mummy I asked if I could play with him for a little while and give him loads of hugs and kisses. When Khaylen began to give me a kiss he was slobbering all over my cheek. I think he thought I was his milk bottle and he made a sucking motion with his mouth. Mummy and I both laughed out very loudly and I kept on putting my cheek near him to make Mummy laugh. I like it when she laughs with me. It make me really happy to see her smile and laugh.

We then have him a bath and massaged oil onto him. He loved the massage just like I did when I was a baby according to Mummy.

A Day with my Papa

30th June 2013 –

Today I spend the day with my Papa.  We all woke up a little late as we had been to Dillons party yesterday and Papa got home from work at 1am on Sunday.  I know this because when my Papa got home he came to my room and moved me so that I was sleeping properly and then he tucked me in.  In my sleep I asked him what time it was and he said it’s ‘one o’clock in the morning’.  Now I don’t remember this but my Papa told me that I asked if it was a school day and if I was allowed to wear the summer dress, to this he obviously answered ‘No, it’s Sunday when you will wake up’.

I think my Papa always comes in to see me when he has been working late because I know that I’m tucked in properly.  Mummy told me that I sleep in loads of funny positions and that a couple of times when I was three years old I kept falling out of bed because I kept moving around throughout the night.  Maybe I was dreaming of flying or just pretending jumping or something.

Anyways, let’s get back to the day.  So we all woke up late and Papa wasn’t feeling too well because he suffered from Hayfever and his back was hurting.  We were all meant to go to my Nani’s house to help make Penda’s (an Indian sweet), but Mummy said that I had to do my homework and there would be too many distraction so both my Papa and I stayed home.  We had nice breakfast and Papa allowing me to have tea and biscuits on the weekends sometimes.

No sooner had I finished breakfast Papa said I had to get straight into work mode.  Lucky for me Papa loved doing homework with me and today was especially great because my homework was to make a ‘3D Safari Animal’.  I had chosen to make a giraffe so my Papa had saved a few items from recycling bits and below is a list of items we used to make the giraffe.

1)      One inner tube of wrapping paper
2)      A tube that holds posters etc
3)      An empty baby food container
4)      Newspaper
5)      Empty fizzy drinks bottle
6)      PVA Glue and brushes
7)      Some card from a cardboard box
8)      Two lids from biro pens
9)      Elephant Tape (hope no elephants were harmed in the making of these)
10)   Dry beans
11)   Paint

We were now ready to make it all.  Papa helped me to cut the holes in the food container so that we can fit the legs, neck and tail to it, he mostly put together the base structure while I cut up the newspaper for the papier-mâché .

I then used the glue and newspaper and started sticking, Papa helped me where he would see that I was missing bits out but he sat on my bed most of the time as his looked like he was in a lot of pain every time he moved.  After the structure was covered it was time to let it dry.  While it was drying I asked Papa if I could watch some TV, unwillingly he said yes and I sat down to watch some cartoons after washing my hands.  Papa went and lay down on his bed for a little while, he must have been in a really bad way because I don’t ever remember him sleeping during the day especially when we get to spend time together.

An hour or so later Papa must have woken up as I heard the hair dryer start up.  I went up to investigate and saw.  my Papa sitting on my bed and point the hair dryer at the giraffe model and twisting it around whilst he looked half asleep.  Papa had already mixed some paint and as soon as he had finished drying the model I started to paint it.

‘It’s looks like it’s going to be hot outside, shall we take the giraffe out to dry’ my Papa said with a smile.

‘Yay, can I play in the garden while its drying’, I said in joy.

Papa responded as he does to majority of my requests ‘Yes sweetie, of course.’

While the giraffe model was drying in the sun I firstly helped Papa to put out the clothes that he had set to wash earlier in the washing machine, I handed him the clothes pegs and sometimes he asked me to hand him the clothes as he couldn’t bend down.  He then let me play with bubbles and let me run around the garden pretending to chase butterflies.

Papa was sorting out lunch and washing up dishes from the morning.  I had cheese sandwich with crisps in the middle and some extra on the side.  I cheekily asked for more crisps but Papa only gave me a few more and said that I could have some chocolate instead as I had been good.

After lunch we went back out to check if the paint on the giraffe had dried.  Papa said that we should put an additional layer on it and then sit and watch a movie while we waited for it to dry.

The thought of watching a movie made me want to paint the giraffe as fast as I could.  ‘Finished’ I said in a matter of minutes, Papa gave me that look he does to say ‘Are you sure, because it clearly isn’t’,  his one eyebrow raised, lips twisted to one side and a low hum that started from deep in the back of his throat and when released it uttered ‘Reeallly?’  I looked back at the model and knew that I hadn’t done the under part of the giraffe and said ‘Yes, let’s go watch a movie. Papa stopped me in my tracks and helped me finish off the painting; it was now time for it to dry again.

Papa allowed me to choose a movie and I choose ‘Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets’, whilst watching the movie Papa disappeared to the kitchen for a few minutes only to emerge with a bowl of popcorn.  ‘Popcorn, Yay yay yippidie yay’, I love having popcorn when watching a movie, it makes me feel like I’m at the cinema.

After the movie ended I helped Papa to collect the clothes and put them away by this time Mummy and Khaylen arrived back. She must have timed it well I thought to myself.  The giraffe was collected a little later just before I went to bed.  As I wasn’t feeling too hungry I didn’t want a full dinner so I had two Weetabix with milk instead.  I then went to sleep as I had to wake up early for school the next day.

I had a great day with my Papa, I wish he could spend more time with him over the next few days so we can finish off the Giraffe.  All that was left to do was add some ears, those little horn things they have and draw eyes, nose and mouth.

We added the above details the day before (2nd July 2013)  we had to take it into school.  It was a very quick thing to do so we did it before bed time.

The next day I took the Giraffe model into school and my Papa come to drop me off.  I told everyone that the giraffe was a girl and that it was a big sister giraffe.  I think my teachers like it very much because they kept saying how lovely and cute it looked especially as I made most of it myself with a tiny help from my Papa.
