Foundation Stage Prize Day

10th July -

Weeks and weeks of preparation by the teachers and students alike results in a fantastic Prize Day assembly for the Foundation Stage.

I had been practising my line and the songs for the prize day. Somedays Papa helped me but this time mostly Mummy helped and we watched and sang along to the song on YouTube.

Papa got me ready for school as always but we got ready a little earlier than usual as we had to get to school early and get ready.  There was a lot of rushing around especially as both Mummy and Papa wanted to come and see my performance.

Khaylen, Mummy and Papa all come to drop me to school and I rushed into the classroom to get ready. All the teachers were very busy getting some of the children.  Miss Spernaes face painted me and as I was going to be a zebra so the colours she used were only black and white.

I was really really excited as we all went into the assembly hall.  All the parents came in and sat down one by one as they aimlessly scoured groups of children to find their own and attempted half a wave or a quick smile if the children notice them back.

My Papa was filming so I saw him in the middle at the back of the assembly hall.  I can always rely on him to be either sitting or standing at that point to get the best footage.

The assembly was really fun and it was started off by the kindergarten children first with a small play, then came the nursery children and then finally it was the receptions turn to shine.  We all said our parts perfectly and my line was "Did you know that we don't sleep lying down like you, we sleep standing up."  I could see Papa put a thumbs up in the back of the room when I finished my line and I was so happy that I got it right.  Now it was time so sing the songs.  I did my very best and made sure I did all the actions correctly as well as sing the words out louder than anyone else.

When we had finished the performance Miss Spernaes read our names out one by one as Mr Raja handed out certificates for our achievements.
